Chief Strategy Officer Playbook – How to transform strategies into great results

The Brightline Initiative has put together an excellent resource with its long-term partners Thinkers50 called The Chief Strategy Officer Playbook. It contains more than two dozen articles from some of the world’s leading business thinkers on strategy and execution.

They also quote an interesting set of statistics in relation to strategic intiatives and strategy execution from two different surveys: Economist Intelligence Unit survey in conjunction with Brightline Initiative¹, and the Project Management Institute Pulse of the Profession survey²

  • 90% of senior executives admitted they fail to meet all of their organisation’s strategic objectives¹
  • On average, organisations fail to meet 20% of their strategic objectives¹
  • 59% of respondents acknowledge there is a gap between strategy design and delivery¹
  • At least 9.9% of every dollar is wasted is due to poor performance – equivalent to $99m for every $1billion invested

There are some brilliant ideas in the playbook which you can download below – enjoy the read.
